Thanks to the generosity of its members, the Historical Society of Woodstock recently completed a major digitization project of the Registers, Ledgers and Accounts books maintained by the Mead's Mountain House from 1919 to 1948. The records, graciously loaned to the Society by Nancy Sperle, provide a unique insight into an era when the Catskill Mountains offered city dwellers an escape from the unhealthy air associated with hot urban summers. The records below are but a few examples of the digital files and microfims now housed as part of the HSW's permanent collection. To explore the Mead's Mountain House collection further, contact the Historical Society of Woodstock. (Note: The below records are PDF files. You will need Acrobat Reader to view. Files may take time to open. Once opened, use the "maginifying" tool to view files close-up.)
